Some, such as all the Ravens made from 1998 to 2001, have the serial number placed on the upper, rearward-facing portion of the seat mast, in front of the seat post. It may also be on the seat stay or chain stay. On older bikes, the serial number gives you a clue as to the year of your bike, which you can then use to determine what model you have by cross referencing with the appropriate catalog.
